Affirmations have become a lot more commonplace these days — they’re on postcards, card decks, clothing, mugs, you name it — all with sayings and phrases meant to pep up your mental health. Not all of us enjoy affirmations (some of that distaste stems from the toxic positivity/inspirational quote generation we were raised in), but we do recognize there are helpful, validating, soothing, or even a bit feral of phrases that just hit a little better when you’re a patient with a chronic health condition.
